In this four hour course you will create your very own unique Green Man or Goddess sculpture for your garden, using stoneware clay. The Green Man has appeared in many cultures throughout history and is traditionally believed to represent nature and renewal. The first part of the day will be spent creating the base for your sculpture. We will look at the proportions of the face and sculpt the facial features. Once the face has been completed we add the leaves, vines and any other features you want to include.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of ability and is open to everyone from the age of 12 years.
You are able to choose whether to return at a future date to glaze or stain your own piece or to choose a glaze from a selection of test tiles for me to glaze it. (Choosing to have your gnome glazed by me will incur a small additional fee to cover my time.)
The workshop will take place at my studio in Caersws, Powys. (The full address and directions will be given after booking)
